Update 2.1.36 introduces a brand-new reward aircraft:
The Gotha Go P.60 project was prompted by the first production order for Horten Ho 229 fighter that was granted to Gotha in June 1944. The company's engineers and designers felt that so many changes were required to start production, that it was more feasible to develop a completely new and relatively more modern design. Thus, the Go P.60 project was born, retaining only the defining feature of the Ho 229 – the flying-wing hull configuration. Its final iteration, Gotha Go P.60C, was intended as a night fighter, powered by two BMW 003 engines and armed with four forward-facing MK 108 autocannons, with a crew of three in three adjacent cockpits.
In World of Warplanes, Gotha Go P.60C is a Tier IX medium-altitude fighter. The flying-wing design means it is not very maneuverable and will require careful planning and tactical thinking from its pilot. Excellent speed and powerful boost allow it to pounce on an enemy, deal its blow, and quickly disengage or circle for another run. Its four 30-millimeter cannons deal excellent damage at medium and short range. The Go P.60C sports another of the infamous German design features: two more MK 108 cannons are mounted in a Schräge Musik arrangement – essentially, fixed turrets firing upwards, largely useless, but providing a bit more fun when they actually hit an unwary enemy flying overhead. Or, maybe, a particularly skilled pilot will be able to harness their firepower in dogfights?
