Dive into World of Warplanes as we Remember Dunkirk with a series of new updates, missions, bundles, new planes, and even more to commemorate the Battle of Dunkirk and Operation Dynamo!
Taking place in 1940, Operation Dynamo was sometimes referred to as the Miracle of Dunkirk, and involved the evacuation and rescue of over 330,000 soldiers from the clutches of Axis forces in Dunkirk, France. Aerial battles fought over the beaches of Dunkirk held back the Luftwaffe long enough to ensure the success of the mission, as military and even civilian vessels came to the aid of soldiers when all hope seemed to have gone.
We're introducing a host of new updates and features to World of Warplanes as part of our Remember Dunkirk campaign, and you can check out some of the highlights below!
There’s a brand new hangar to celebrate our Remember Dunkirk campaign! Immerse yourself in Operation Dynamo, with burning wreckage surrounding the hangar serving as a reminder of the desperation soldiers faced in Dunkirk 77 years ago.
Operation Dynamo Missions!

We'll have a dedicated article announcing these missions, so keep your eyes on the skies.

The new British and German planes, the Warbirds of Dunkirk, will be available in special bundles from July 14 until August 10! Both planes come with a pilot with two unique skills and two free skill points, in addition to exclusive emblems and nosearts!
- Supermarine Spitfire Mk Ia, Tier V British Fighter
One of history's most iconic warbirds, the Spitfire saw heavy use by Allied countries until well after the end of WWII, and proved to be the only Allied fighter capable of taking on the Bf 109E-3 over Dunkirk!
- Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3, Tier V German Fighter
The principal fighter and pièce de résistance of the Luftwaffe, the Bf 109E-3 is a near-unrivalled combatant at high altitudes, meeting its match only in the iconic British Spitfire!
