Taking place in 1940, Operation Dynamo was sometimes referred to as the Miracle of Dunkirk, and involved the evacuation and rescue of over 330,000 soldiers from the clutches of Axis forces in Dunkirk, France. Aerial battles fought over the beaches of Dunkirk held back the Luftwaffe long enough to ensure the success of the mission, as military and even civilian vessels came to the aid of soldiers when all hope seemed to have gone.
We're introducing a host of new updates and features to World of Warplanes as part of our Remember Dunkirk campaign, and you can check out some of the highlights below!
There’s a brand new hangar to celebrate our Remember Dunkirk campaign! Immerse yourself in Operation Dynamo, with burning wreckage surrounding the hangar serving as a reminder of the desperation soldiers faced in Dunkirk 77 years ago.
It was one of the most crucial missions of WWII, with the heart and soul of Britain's forces trapped in a seemingly impossible position. Take to the skies in these new missions as Allied or Axis forces for special rewards, including the chance to earn two brand new planes, the Warbirds of Dunkirk!
We'll have a dedicated article announcing these missions, so keep your eyes on the skies.
The new British and German planes, the Warbirds of Dunkirk, will be available in special bundles from July 14 until August 10! Both planes come with a pilot with two unique skills and two free skill points, in addition to exclusive emblems and nosearts!
We'll be launching these bundles in a dedicated article very soon, so watch out for that one!
