Special: Lavochkin’s Weekend

The Lavochkin line of Soviet fighters is a very prominent one in World of Warplanes, featuring six diverse aircraft ranging from the timber-made LaGG-3 all the way to the sleek, jet-powered La-15. Although its aircraft may be less famous than those of the iconic Mikoyan-Gurevich (MiG) or Ilyushin design bureaus, Lavochkin actually has been, and continues to be, a major powerhouse in Russian aviation that has manufactured hundreds of planes, drones and lately even satellites. During WWII and in the immediate post-war era, Lavochkin planes were in service in many Eastern European countries where they had a long-lasting impact on shaping the landscape of the military aviation of their time. We want to honour the accomplishments of this prolific construction bureau by highlighting its protégés in our game.
