If not, then this special is here to remind you that the famous Soviet construction bureau emerged from Polikarpov’s workshop precisely 75 years ago on December 8th 1939. The two leading engineers Mikoyan and Gurevich, after whom the bureau was named, built upon earlier designs to develop the acclaimed MiG jet aircraft that would go on to take the world of military aviation by storm.
