Did you know that:
- The download and installation of World of Warplanes updates requires additional space (up to 10GB) on your hard drive
- Tip: check if you have enough hard disk space in the location where you have your game folder before you start installation.
- The files from all the previous updates are stored in the folder World of Warplanes/Updates and take up space on your hard disk
- Tip: after installation of the current update, remove all files from the folder World of Warplanes/Updates.
- Your computer’s graphics settings affect your game performance, especially the quality of the clouds and the screen resolution
- Tip: if you have noticed that your computer has a problem with game performance, just lower your graphics settings. This is especially true for the quality of in-game clouds. It’s better to make them less beautiful in order to improve your frames-per-second (FPS). You can also significantly improve the performance by reducing the screen resolution.
- Sound settings also affect game performance
- Tip: turn off the sound effects in the game (or reduce their quality): they make the game atmosphere more realistic, but require a lot of PC resources.
- Running download programmes (such as torrent) has an effect on game performance?
- Tip: if you have high ping* then you should check whether you have any download programmes, automatic downloads or installation processes running on your computer (the last point is also valid in the case of any sudden FPS drops).
- FPS can be improved by installing the latest drivers for your video card
- Tip: check and update the drivers for your video card. If you have an nVidia video card on your computer you should use the official nVidia GeForce Experience utility, which will help you to set the optimal graphics settings for your computer.
- There are special programmes for turning off some effects that may be reducing the performance of your computer
- Tip: if you have low FPS on computers with low performance, use booster programmes that will disable unnecessary processes of the operating system when the game is running (for example, the Razor Game Booster).
*Ping is a measurement of the speed of the connection to the game server. For example, a connection with a low 50 ping is going to result in a better game experience than a connection with a high 250 ping.
Good luck in the air!
