We’re proud to announce the public test of Update 1.9.2. If you’re looking to try out all the new features of the upcoming version before its official release, then the public test server is the place to be.

Not only is this a great opportunity to get a glimpse of the game’s future, but you will also be able to actively influence the final look of the update by providing valuable feedback to our developers. With your help, they will be able to test the newly created features and smooth out whatever rough edges still remain, based on the findings of the public test participants.

Main Features of Update 1.9.2:

  • A new branch of US multirole fighters
  • Bot modifications
  • New Tier VIII Premium Plane: Lockheed XP-58 Chain Lightning

How the Public Test Works

When it is time to run a public test, the developers will release a test version of the client. This can be downloaded by following the instructions below. Make sure that you follow all of the instructions carefully, so that you don’t accidentally cause problems for your normal play account.

The test account is completely separate to your normal account. It will have a set of special rules for crediting experience, credits and gold. This will allow you to unlock all the contents of the game more quickly, in order for you to be able to fully test the new features.

As such you will receive:

2000 for your 1st victory of the day

5000 for your 10th victory of the day

 

Additionally, the following multipliers will be applied on the public test server:

Your test account will be a copy of your play account as it was on 13 November. This means that all the planes purchased or researched on your regular account by this date will also be available on the public test account from the start.

The progress achieved on the test server will not carry over to your regular World of Warplanes account.

Financial transactions are not possible on the test server and payments will not be accepted.

 

Public Test General Rules

Participation in the World of Warplanes Public Test is free. All players are eligible to take part in the public test as long as they registered before 13 November.

The test server will run all day long without interruptions or resets. We will communicate in advance when the testing period will end and when the public test will be closed.

 

How to Join the Public Test

1. Download the test client installer.

2. Make sure you select a save location that is different to your regular World of Warplanes game files. Save and run the installer (1.9.2 SD - 4.95 GB, 1.9.2 HD – 6.95 GB).

3. Run the new copy of the game. The launcher will download all the additional data.

4. Log in and start playing. 

 

New Public Test Battle Missions and Achievements

After the single Public Test participation emblem for Version 1.6, we're continuing the tradition with Update 1.9.2.

From now on, every Public Test will contain a set of version-specific Battle Missions that will be uniquely tailored to the content of the update that needs testing. If you complete the minimum requirements of these battle missions (which will vary from test to test), you’ll not only be granted rewards on the Public Test itself, but also be able to unlock progressively greater achievements that will carry over to the live server.

There will be a total of ten Public Test participation achievements ranked from X-I, each with its own medal. Every Public Test, you’ll be able to unlock a new rank. That means that, ideally, if you complete the required number of battle missions at every testing opportunity, you can make it to the highest rank and score the rank I test participation medal ten versions from now. Naturally, however, you can begin collecting these achievements at any moment. The sequence starts whenever you finish the required number of missions for this test as well as any other Public Test in the future.

Available Battle Missions

New Planes

Multirole Fighters, USA

  • P-26 Peashooter — Tier II;
  • P-35 — Tier III;
  • P-43 Lancer — Tier IV;
  • P-44 Rocket — Tier V;
  • P-47B Thunderbolt — Tier VI;
  • P-47N Thunderbolt — Tier VII;
  • XP-72 — Tier VIII;
  • F-84B Thunderjet — Tier IX;
  • F-84F Thunderstreak — Tier X.

New Plane available for the purchase in the Game Shop: 

  • Lockheed XP-58 Chain Lightning — USA, Heavy Fighter Tier VIII.

Physics and Balance

Fixes to system balance

  • New planes F-84B and F-84F can now mount and shoot 2 types of rockets (Tiny Tim and HVAR Mk. 25). The second rockets type is utilized by the bombs slot and can be launched with bomb drop key (default - Space).
  • Increased damage and damage radius for Tiny Tim rockets. These rockets can be mounted on XF5U, F-84B and F-84F.

Balance changes for particular planes

Changes in the Research Tree

USSR

  • Yak-3 — reduced cooling period for synchronized 20mm B-20.
  • Yak-9 — increased damage for NS-45 cannon.
  • Yak-9U — increased damage for NS-45M cannon.

Germany

  • Ме 410 — reduced cooling period for fuselage 20mm MG-151/20 (1941).
  • Me 262 HG II — reduced HP, reduced manoeuvrability.
  • Me 262 HG III — reduced HP, reduced manoeuvrability.
  • Fw 252 — increased long range accuracy.
  • Reduced damage and accuracy for 30mm MG-213/30 cannons (mounted on Me 262 HG II, Me 262 HG III, Fw 252, Me P.1102 B).

USA

  • XF5U — reduced damage for 20mm M39 guns. Increased damage and damage radius for Tiny Tim rockets.
  • F6U — reduced HP, reduced manoeuvrability.
  • Reduced damage and accuracy for 20mm Mk.12 guns (mounted on F6U, F-94D, F2H, F7U, XF-90).
  • F7U and XF-90: 500lb bombs were replaced with the more powerful AN-M64 500-lb

Great Britain

  • Hurricane IID — increased HP, reduced controllability, increased accuracy for 40mm Vickers S cannons.
  • Swift — increased long range accuracy.
  • Reduced damage and accuracy for 30mm ADEN cannons (mounted on Javelin, Swift, P.228)

Bots

  • The possibility to react with in-game commands from allies was added
  • The possibility to use consumables depending on the skill level was added
  • Improved tactics of group interaction for the starting break up
  • Reduced probability of collision with an object on the map
  • Changed system of ammo type usage. Bots with skill level «Newbie» will be using standard belts, «Fighter» and «Veteran» will use universal ammo type
  • Increased accuracy when attacking the ground targets with outboard weapon.

Maps

  • "Bay" map was returned to the pool of maps available for standard and training battles.

UI

Training Room

  • The function to put full teams in the queue panel and swap teams was added.
  • Reworked "add-bots to the room" window.
  • Additional possibility to edit bots if they were placed in teams.

Hangar

  • Description of the most significant plane features were added to the plane info window, and to the plane purchase window.
