When Sergey Ilyushin was born, on 30 March 1894 in rural Dilyalevo, nobody anticipated that, years later, he would become one of the leading aeronautical engineers of the Soviet Union. From his humble beginnings, he built a formidable career during which he designed a multitude of different planes, including the inimitable Ilyushin IL-2 – the most-produced combat aircraft of WWII. After the war, Ilyushin deviated towards commercial aircraft, designing most notably long-standing Aeroflot classics such as the IL-18 and IL-62. Today, on the eve of the 121st anniversary of his birth, we pay homage to the prolific aviator by discounting all of his aircraft in the game and tripling your XP for every first sortie. Enjoy!
