One of the most significant and memorable battles took place between the U.S. and the Empire of Japan in the South Pacific. An interesting battlefield was Guadalcanal and its surrounding islands, which are now more famed as a tourist destination, but during the Second World War, this remote location was of great strategic importance to both nations. The fight to control this locale was a prolonged struggle. Today’s special looks back at the Battle of Rennell Island, a great example of naval and aerial warfare of its time, that constituted the end of this hard-fought campaign. Mission 1: Conquering Rennell Island

Goal

Destroy at least 1 Japanese enemy aircraft and win the battle flying the required aircraft.

Reward

3 x First Aid Dressing Package

Conditions
  • The mission is only available in Standard Battles
  • Must be flying American aircraft
  • Only battles on aircraft of Tier III or higher count for the mission

Mission 2: Defending Rennell Island

Goal

Destroy a total of 15 U.S. enemy aircraft in battles flying the required aircraft.

Reward

1 x Engine Tuning II

Conditions
  • The mission is only available in Standard Battles
  • Must be flying Japanese aircraft
  • Only battles on aircraft of Tier III or higher count for the mission
