We’re proud to announce the first iteration of the public test of Version 1.7. If you’re looking to try out all the new features of the upcoming version before its official release, then the public test server is the place for you to be.
Not only is this a great opportunity to get a glimpse of the future of the game, but you will also be able to actively influence the final look of the update by providing valuable feedback to our developers. With your help, they will be able to test the newly created features and smooth out whatever rough edges still remain, based on the findings of the public test participants.

The test account is completely separate to your normal account. It will have a set of special rules for crediting experience, credits and gold. This will allow you to unlock all the contents of the game more quickly, in order for you to be able to fully test the new features.
As such you will receive:
Additionally, the following multipliers will be applied on the public test server:

Your test account will be a copy of your play account as it was on 26 January 2015. This means that all the planes purchased or researched on your regular account by this date will also be available on the public test account from the start.
The progress achieved on the test server will not carry over to your regular World of Warplanes account.
Financial transactions are not possible on the test server and payments will not be accepted.
Participation in the World of Warplanes Public Test is free. All players are eligible to take part in the public test as long as they registered before 26 January 2015.
The test server will run all day long without interruptions or resets. We will communicate in advance when the testing period will be over and when the public test will be closed.
1. Download the test client installer.
2. Make sure you pick a save location that is different to your regular World of Warplanes game files. Save and run the installer (1.7.0 SD - 4.69 GB, 1.7.0. HD - 6.31 GB).
3. Run the new copy of the game. The launcher will download all the additional data.
4. Log in and start playing. Remember to post your feedback to this forum thread.
After the single Public Test participation emblem for the 1.6 Version, starting with Version 1.7 we’re introducing a new way to reward your testing efforts.
From now on, every Public Test will contain a set of version-specific Battle Missions that will be uniquely tailored to the content of the update that needs testing. If you complete the required minimum of these battle missions (which will vary from test to test), you’ll not only be granted rewards on the Public Test itself, but also be able to unlock progressively greater achievements that will carry over to the live server.
There will be ten total Public Test participation achievements ranked from X-I, each with its own medal. Every Public Test, you’ll be able to unlock a new rank. That means that, ideally, if you complete the required number of battle missions at every testing opportunity, you can make it to the highest rank and score the rank I test participation medal ten versions from now. Naturally, however, you can begin collecting these achievements at any moment. The sequence starts whenever you finish the required number of missions at this test as well as any other Public Test in the future.
Check out the medals and the specific Version 1.7 Public Test battle missions below!

World of Warplanes Update 1.7.0 has some new features aimed to make the game not only diverse, but also much more comfortable for our players.
We've implemented a new branch of German ground attack planes. These planes have a really original appearance and are markedly different from ground attack planes of USSR tree in their flight characteristics and armament, making ground target attacks more interesting.
We've also added a new fine-tuning feature for in-battle markers of planes and ground targets. Now a player can choose how they will look for planes of different classes (more visible markers for ground targets for ground attack planes, or more visible markers of aerial targets for fighters).
We've also implemented a quick Flight auto-search for players who prefer team play.
A new branch of German ground attack planes will be introduced in this update. In contrast to the "flying tanks" of USSR, these planes offer a variety of game styles. At lower tiers you will get classic ground attack planes, middle tiers begin to focus on using the primary weapons, and high tiers become speedy and "die hard" general purpose planes, somewhat reminiscent of heavy fighters.
The flight auto-search button was added to the flight creation window. Our players will be able to play in a flight, even if all friends are offline. After pressing the button, a player can join a flight with other players who have taken a plane of the same or close tier, and have also applied for a random flight. Only one player can be added automatically. The player who applied for the flight auto-search earlier becomes the flight leader. After this flight mate is added, the flight commander can add one more player from his contact list (and bring the total number of players in flight to 3).
Increased accuracy of the primary weapon when shooting at ground targets.

2 new game locations were added. They will be available for battles of medium and high plane tiers:
Province — available for Tiers V-X.Spring map, based on the theme of military confrontation in Italy. This map is composed of an extensive system of canyons and plateaus, and you will also find several towns, connected with bridges.
The Observatory - available for Tiers V-X.Winter map, based on the European theatre of war. This map is composed of mountain ranges and a wide canyon in the centre of the map.
Balancer’s algorithm has been improved to reduce the frequency of some issues:
We've added special awards for public test participants. They have 10 ranks: Participant, Specialist (3 ranks, bronze), Expert (3 ranks, silver) and Master (3 ranks, gold). A new rank is awarded for completing a minimum set of combat missions during the public tests of any further update of World of Warplanes, starting with 1.7.0. Upon receipt of each subsequent rank, the award in the profile will be replaced with a new one.
The display of achievements earned by other players in the Battle Against Bots when checking the profile in the game client was added.
Thank you for taking part in the public test. Good luck and have fun!
