Total type rank is based on the fulfillment of 3 type-specific missions. Each mission has 5 levels, which reflect your success and performance in a combat.
Total type rank is calculated from the sum of mission levels achieved.
If you use planes of different aircraft types during one battle, total type rank is calculated separately for each type. If you use several planes of the same aircraft type during one battle, your results are simply summed up towards total progress.
