In the 1.1 update for World of Warplanes you will see some changes to the mouse control algorithm, a reworked settings screen and some new options to customise your settings.
Mouse control
Simplified upward pitch: Now you can easily pitch upward from all camera positions and altitudes, allowing you to better avoid collisions when watching your back.
Improved ground collision warning: At the same time, this now has less impact on the combat behaviour of the plane at any altitude. If you are confident in your skills, you can disable “ground collision control” and uncheck "Limit bank at low altitudes".
Reworked settings menu
Now all settings are divided into groups. This will make it easier to understand when any settings changes have been applied.
New features to change the camera behaviour were added.
A new «free» settings preset was added. Camera settings for this mouse control preset make it easier to control your plane when following an enemy.
The default state of the camera inertia slider was changed. At the moment we have all camera filters removed to speed up the data flow to the server, and hard camera binding could result in picture instability. We made the change because camera inertia minimises lag and results in picture stability, which, in its turn, improves the plane’s orientation in a dogfight. For those who are used to the former hard binding, you just need to move the «Camera inertia» slider to the rightmost position.
New options for customising
«Camera roll acceleration» – this option allows you to determine how quickly the horizon will return to its normal position.
«Camera level-off rate» – determines the rate at which the nose of the plane will level off to the horizon . Here we should note that the leftmost position of the slider will cause the camera to level off only if your mouse is stationary. The same principle works outside the leveling off zone. So, if you turn the camera sharply to invert the horizon, then to return the horizon to the normal position keep the mouse stationary or wait until the nose of the plane is in the level-off zone.
To conclude, we would like to add that all prepared mouse presets «Standard», «Free», «Vector» and «Hybrid» are just templates, the best preset is the one you create yourself.
