With Update 2.0.5, a lot of new terms were added. One of them was 'materials'. What are they? Materials are a kind of asset introduced in order to improve and calibrate your equipment. They are divided into different types, which can be applied depending on the types of equipment and historic period/tier.
Material | Periods | Improves equipment associated with |
Airframe Elements | 1, 2, 3 | Cockpit, airframe, engine, outboard weapons, turret |
Mechanical Parts | 1, 2, 3 | Airframe, engine, outboard weapons, forward-firing weapons, turret |
Weapon Parts | 1, 2, 3 | Cockpit (periods 1 and 2), outboard weapons, forward-firing weapons, turret |
Flight Instruments | 1, 2, 3 | Cockpit (period 3), turret |
Heat-Resistant Parts | 2, 3 | Periods 2 and 3 only: airframe, engine, forward-firing weapons |
Radio Electronics | 3 | Period 3 only: cockpit, engine, outboard weapons, forward-firing weapons, turret |
Materials can be earned by playing battles and destroying various types of aerial and ground targets in victorious battles only.
The quantity and type of these Materials will depend on the aircraft tier and the targets you attacked and destroyed. For example, heavy aircraft with high survivability will more often drop airframe and cockpit parts. Ground targets also provide Materials. Assisted by gunners, attack aircraft and bomber pilots can receive several types of materials that can be received only by destroying aerial targets.
