gamescom Press Review

During the gamescom, the gaming press was out in force in Cologne to see all the upcoming titles that deserved to be highlighted. The Wargaming team was extensively interviewed by numerous newspapers, video channels and websites.  In this article, we present a review of some of the international web reviews that were released by the media afterwards.

In English

“My interest really peaked with the level of customisation on offer though. Being skilled on the stick will certainly keep you alive and having the time or the money to keep the XP rolling in will help you stay competitive for the top spots, but customisation struck me as where you’ll edge out your opponents in those one on one situations.”
TheGameJar covered the gamescom event. Their special reporter at the Wargaming booth tried both World of Tanks and World of Warplanes, and is now very eager to play the public version of World of Warplanes. He was impressed with the details and accuracy of the game models.

“Stemming from a tremendous amount of beta feedback, WarGaming.net has been hard at work improving the UI, the tech tree system for each nation and various game mechanics.”
On Lorehound, a website about MMOs, there is an interview with Chris Cook, the head of PR for Wargaming North America, who speaks about the Japanese planes and all the upcoming new features of World of Warplanes.

“We mostly focusing on making sure the game is great”
You can also see this interview in English of Chris Cook, the Public Relation manager for Wargaming North  America that was produced for Games Cloud TV, a Dutch channel. Chris Cook introduces the World of Warplanes beta and the free-to-play game mode.

“With the arrival of World of Warplanes, we’ll be able to combine the worlds of tanks and planes on the global map.”
PcGamesN, a website dedicated to multiple video games, likes the idea of the upcoming Global map, which will feature tanks and planes at the same time.

“Visually the game is quite impressive, planes are portrayed in lovely detail, with a large number of liveries for every model, that add to the visual variety and give dogfights a rather colourful look.“
Dual Shockers puts forward a very detailed review of World of Warplanes. The author apparently played the very early stage of the game, and enjoyed it.

"I think one day in history, some mechanics and designers were really drunk and decided to make a plane like this."
Tenton Hammer the MMO-dedicated website, extensively presents Wargaming along with the current and future games like World of Warplanes and World of Tanks: Generals. They speak with Victor Kislyi about the long-awaited plane project, and also about the advantages of free games.

 “The strategy of World of Warplanes is a little bit different to what you know from World of Tanks. It is much more dynamic.”
Platform 32 Youtube channel presents an interesting video introducing World of Warplanes.

In Polish

“Firma wypuści grę dopiero, gdy będzie ona gotowa.”
GRY Online reviews the Wargaming projects in this extensive article. They are eager to see the upcoming World of Warplanes, as many of you are as well.

“Wargaming.net postara się też o to, żeby World of Warplanes i World of Warships były znacznie bardziej dopracowanymi grami w dniu premiery, niż miało to miejsce przy okazji startu World of Tanks. ”
Gram presents a review of the global Wargaming projects after gamescom. World of Warplanes is expected to be perfect when it is released.  They also mention the global Wargaming service and the benefits that it will bring to the players. 

“World of Warplanes. Grałem! I jest ciężko.”
Grastroskopia reviews all of the currently existing Wargaming products and also mentions World of Warplanes. The review presents the general setting of the game and the level of development.

The Gamekult article has the author jumping into his first World of Warplanes beta session. He explains his first steps in the hangar and talks about what is needed to customize his first machine and enter into battle.

In Spanish

Juegos DB describes the first steps of a beginner virtual pilot in World of Warplanes, moving from the hangar to the skies, and explains how to obtain better planes.

Vandal.net presents us with an overview of Wargaming.net’s aims and directions, and offers general information about World of Warplanes.  It also takes a look at the latest news about the on-going development of their first major gaming project, World of Tanks.
