gamescom Press Review Part 2

The introduction of the World of Warplanes to the public during the gamescom exposition resulted in some very positive feedback on various websites.  We would like to share with you a few more snippets from the international web reviews that were released by the media in various countries afterwards.

We can see that World of Warplanes is very much gaining the international interest of the game-playing public and we are very proud of it.

In the previous gamescom press review, we presented you few interesting articles written in English, Polish, French and Spanish. This time we want to show you how World of Warplanes is spreading throughout Eastern Europe as well. 

However, first we will start with the ones in English: 

“That realism only extends so far as benefits the game and its players, however landing and taking off don't really exist in World of Warplanes, which anyone who's accidentally (and we are hoping virtually) crashed a helicopter in process of getting airborne will likely appreciate.” massively.joystiq focuses on the finer details of the game. It also compares WoWp to arcade-type games and the simulation-type ones, stating that WoWp appears to hit just the right balance for the players to be entertained.  

“Much of that success is down to the colourful, driven and immensely enthusiastic CEO of the game’s studio, Wargaming.” The video games website develop-online.net presents an interview with our CEO Victor Kisleyi. Do you really want to know “how it all happened”?  Are you interested in what Wargaming is planning for the players? In this article you will find many interesting facts about Wargaming. 

The Czech, Slovakian and Polish press couldn’t miss the unique opportunity to comment on the beta version either: 

„Pokud vás přestaly bavit pozemní bitvy v tancích, nic nevzdávejte a připravte se na pořádné boje ve vzduchu, které vám přinese World of Warplanes, jež prochází fází betatestu.“ gameszoom.cz, a website dedicated to the big world of video games, describes in detail what you can expect to find in World of Warplanes.

„Příjemná je naopak možnost volby způsobu ovládání. Letadlo můžete ovládat myší a klávesnicí, pouze klávesnicí nebo joystickem. Nejpřesnější je poslední jmenovaný, zatímco ovládání pomocí klávesnice a myši připomíná vzdušné bitvy v Battlefieldu 3.“ The preview from bonusweb.idnes.cz summarises the pros and cons of the beta version.

„Vyznávači vojenskej techniky budú slintať, modely sú fakt detailné, kvalitne textúrované a ozvučené. Vymodelovať a dokončiť jedno celé lietadlo trvá vývojárom viac ako mesiac a pol, pričom sa v hre objavia stroje Americkej, Nemeckej aj Sovietskej výroby.“ The Slovakian reviewer from centrumher.eu spoke highly about detailed rendering of models, and highlighted that players should remember the huge amount of extras such as Clan Wars and contests that are supported by Wargaming and will arrive as soon as the game ships.

”W tym roku na Gamescom ponownie było głośno o Wargaming.net.” Polish portal studencka.pl is looking forward to this upcoming arcade game in which you will find a good amount of historical accuracy.
