Pilots and Aviation Buffs!
It’s been a little while since we last held a creative contest, so we wanted to make this new contest extra special considering the festive time of year.
We’re inviting you to show off your artistic skills on an aviation-based theme by creating a short comic on the subject of “building an aircraft”.
You can choose to make it festive if you wish, but it’s not required! Full details can be found below… after we show you the prizes on offer! Please note that the prizes of in-game gold will be added to your World of Tanks account, not your World of Warplanes test account (if you have one).

Rules and Guidelines
- Participants must create a short story comic about “building an aircraft”, and must submit the image or link in the dedicated forum thread here.
- All submissions must be received by 12:00 CET (11:00 UTC) Tuesday 15 January.
- The storyline of the comic can make use of any variation on the “building an aircraft” brief… anything from a story about someone that builds planes professionally to your own story about making a model plane within your own home (out of any materials you choose!).
- The short story should be told without words, but may include universally understood emoticons if desired.
- The comic can be made using photos, hand-drawn artwork or digital artwork, but must consist solely of your own work!
- The comic must not contain any in-game screenshots from World of Warplanes. Any testers wishing to participate must remember that the NDA is still ACTIVE, and images and/or overt references to game information not officially announced will result in disqualification and possible sanctions.
- The comic must contain at least 3 separate “panes”/pictures at the minimum, and no more than 12 separate “panes”/pictures maximum.
- This contest focuses on the creativity of the story-telling, and the way the comic has been constructed. Additional effort or expenditure in “building an aircraft” will not be the deciding factors in selecting winners.
- All general rules regarding “good taste” and inappropriate content must be adhered to – political content, for example, should be avoided.
- By sending us your image or video submissions, you agree that the material may in future be republished by Wargaming.net. Please also remember to respect the rules of our EULA and TOS.
- Players that have recently been successful in the tester-only in-game contest cannot win any of the same prizes (as those they may have already won) through this contest. They may, however, win any of the “other” prizes on offer. This will be taken into account, and reflected in the final results of this contest.
- Prize gold will be added to the winners’ World of Tanks accounts (not current World of Warplanes accounts, for any existing testers), and can either be spent there or saved for later once World of Warplanes has been released.
- In order to be eligible to claim the ‘main prize’, contest participants acknowledge that they must also fulfil the following additional criteria:
- The main prize winner must be over 18, and a resident within the European Union (or other associated countries within the EU region).
- Players that would require a visa in order to travel to France cannot win the main prize.
Enjoy this last day of the year 2012 and we look forward to seeing your entries in 2013!
