Creative Contest: Tankfest! Mini Comic Contest
During July one of our longer running contests was for players to create a mini comic using no more than 4 frames and no text. It was a tough choice selecting winners and we’d like to thank everyone who took part for their time!
In-Game Contest: Speedy Scrape Undercarriage!
For this contest, players were given a set tier to fly and then had to get as close to the ground as possible (without dying). A variety of planes were used by players for this contest with some pilots choosing to buzz their home airfield to take advantage of the long flat terrain!
In-Game Contest: Ace!
The Ace! Contest initially seemed easy for players, but they soon found out that it wasn’t that simple! To win this contest, all you had to do was to score 5 kills in a single match and survive. There was a catch though - you weren’t allowed to have more than 5 kills! This event is very similar to “High Five” in World of Tanks. After all the dust had settled, 21 pilots walked away successful from this mission!
In-Game Contest: Bandits at 7 o’clock!
Taking it’s lead from the popular “Hunt us Down” event that ran on World of Tanks, initially two and then four Wargaming Community team members took to the skies on special “Bandit” accounts. For every player who shot them down and logged the kill on our forums with a screenshot , prizes were awarded. We learned quickly from this event that nothing makes you die quicker than when people know there is a bounty on your head!
In-Game Contest: Skywriting Contest: WINGMAN
This contest was borrowed from the North American region after many players requested for it to come to the European forums. The requirements seem initially easy but then can be quite challenging trying to find that one last specific letter! Pilots are required to shoot down enemy planes to spellout the word “WINGMAN” using the first letter of each downed pilot’s name!
Fan Art Section
The fan art section has only recently opened for World of Warplanes and we’re looking forward to seeing the submissions from our players. If you have any interesting artwork, projects, comics or videos to share, feel free to post it in this forum section. We’re waiting for more!
L_Plates has a thread where he has been reviewing various different planes. Check out his latest video here!
Thanks to all our players for their awesome work this month and we look forward to sharing more of what’s happening in our community with you in the next spotlight!
"The deeper, the better!" In this contest players had to compete with each other in speed and altitude. The main goal was to be as fast as possible while staying as close to the ground as could be managed. See some of the frightening and awesome results of this contest!
Our Twitter event was very successful! The goal was to find the most unusual and funniest pictures about planes. We want to thank all participants for their sense of humour which was really appreciated.

Players were asked to send an invitation to fly in a wing and score as many kills and ground unit kills as possible!
Players were asked to do some neat aerobatics and share the screenshots. As you can see on the last picture, it did not always work out... but it was fun!
"Plane Advertisement Contest". For this contest, the players were asked to create an advertisement to try to sell their favourite planes. These pictures are the winners:
In "The Honour List" contest, we invited players to post their best war screenshot in the forum thread. We gave prizes to the first 10 best wars!
